Two brownback salamanders recorded in early September
Fifty-five amphibian observations were recorded in the past 30 days including tree frogs, toads, and salamanders.1 Two sightings of (Eurycea aquatica) occurred on September 8, 2026, in the area. The brownback salamander dwells in isolated springs in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee where it occurs in natural freshwater springs typically abundant in watercress.1
