Current flow reflects ongoing low-water conditions despite recent drought relief.

A Giant Mayfly was recorded September 13 near Choctaw. This pollution-sensitive mayfly nymph burrows in stream and river mud before emergence, indicating water quality suitable for taxa that require well-oxygenated conditions.

A Dusky Dancer damselfly was observed October 8 in Oklahoma City. This species inhabits small streams and wetlands with emergent vegetation and is active through fall, with adults patrolling over water even into late October as temperatures permit.

Exceptional drought in Oklahoma County has dropped from 37.80% to 2.36% of the area over the past month. The improvement from late September through October reduces water stress and may alleviate concentrated pollution levels in streams.

A flock of 15 Bonaparte's Gulls was confirmed at Lake Hefner on October 19 during active fall migration. These small gulls are regular migrants through Oklahoma in fall, stopping at inland lakes before continuing south to wintering grounds on the Gulf Coast.
