Ouabache Land Conservancy

Ouabache Land Conservancy is a land trust founded in 2007 that protects and restores land in west-central Indiana, serving Clay, Parke, Putnam, Sullivan, Vermillion, and Vigo Counties. Its stated purpose is to provide habitat for native species, maintain natural scenic beauty, and improve water and air quality while offering education and enhancing quality of life for future generations. The conservancy manages five nature preserves and holds conservation easements, and its work includes planting native species, monitoring threatened wildlife, removing invasive plants, controlling erosion, and acquiring land to create wildlife corridors.
