Ottawa River Coalition

The Ottawa River Coalition is a Lima, Ohio group of local businesses, governments, and individuals working together to improve water quality in the Ottawa River watershed in northwest Ohio, formed in 1993 after the river was designated a Great Lakes Area of Concern. It represents some 45 member and partner organizations and describes its mission as facilitating a balance between the wise use and management of the natural resource and the needs of the community. Its programs include stream monitoring and illicit discharge investigations, storm drain marking, wetland plantings, rain barrel and tire collection programs, an annual river cleanup, and educational outreach.
