Openlands

Openlands is a regional conservation nonprofit and nationally accredited land trust serving the greater Chicago region, working since 1963 to protect natural lands, restore ecosystems, and create access to nature for all. It reports more than 71,100 acres protected across Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin, 15,000 acres restored, over 12,000 trees planted in the Chicago region, and 2,200 volunteers certified as TreeKeepers. It also advances conservation policy in northeastern Illinois, including recent work on legal protections for the Chicago lakefront.
