Open Climate Tech Inc

Open Climate Tech builds open source technology aimed at reducing the harms of climate change, working through volunteer contributions since its founding in 2020. Its main project detects wildfires early by running machine learning filters over real-time imagery from hundreds of cameras mounted on mountain tops and cell towers, mostly in Southern California, checking smoke appearance, smoke movement, and fire weather. Detections are published to a public site where viewers vote to confirm or dismiss them, and the backend and frontend code are released on GitHub as firecam and checkfire.
