Onondaga Audubon Society

Founded in 1951, Onondaga Audubon works to conserve and preserve natural ecosystems throughout Central and Northern New York for birds, other wildlife, and the people who depend on them. It manages the Derby Hill Bird Observatory and the Noyes Sanctuary, which protects over 165 acres across two sites with public walking trails, and carries out hawk migration counts, bird banding, eagle surveys, and piping plover monitoring. Its education and advocacy work includes free bird walks, a Junior Birder program, and the Lights Out! CNY campaign during migration.
