Ohio Native Plant Month, now operating as Ohio Native Plants, works to inspire Ohioans to learn about, appreciate, protect, and plant native species for healthier backyard habitats. It grew out of the 2019 state law that made Ohio the first state to designate an entire month to native plants, and it has since expanded from the April celebration to year-round advocacy. The site offers information on nearly 2,000 Ohio native perennials, flowers, vines, and shrubs, plus a map of native plant sources and guidance on replacing invasive species.
