Oceanographic Pathways Institute Ltd

The Oceanographic Pathways Institute runs exploratory scientific expeditions to document mesophotic coral ecosystems and newly discovered marine biota, aiming to record species before they disappear without scientific record. Its work covers the Pacific Marine National Monuments, including the Pacific Remote Islands, the Marianas Trench, Rose Atoll, and Papahanaumokuakea, an area exceeding 1.6 million square miles of ocean. The institute plans to operate the research vessel R/V Ala Iki, builds marine education for students from elementary through university level into its expeditions, and applies cultural protocols respecting indigenous knowledge and local heritage.
