Northwest Water Planning Alliance

The Northwest Water Planning Alliance is a regional water supply planning body formed in 2010 by groundwater-dependent counties, councils of government, and municipalities in northeastern Illinois, covering an area roughly aligned with the Fox River Basin. It gives elected officials, utility and resource managers, and water supply experts a shared forum to study regional water conditions and develop sustainable supply solutions. Its work includes a regional water supply sustainability plan plus programs to cut outdoor water use and reduce unnecessary road salt application.
