The Northwest Kansas Groundwater Conservation Foundation is a 501(c)(3) that works to slow groundwater decline in designated areas of northwest Kansas using public and private funds. It pays willing water right owners to permanently retire, partially retire, or temporarily set aside their groundwater use, including through the Kansas Water Rights Conservation Program and multi-year flex accounts. Groundwater Management District No. 4 provides its administrative support at no cost so more donated money goes to conservation.
