Northern Rocky Mountain Grotto

The Northern Rocky Mountain Grotto is Montana's chapter of the National Speleological Society, chartered in 2000, working to discover, explore, study, and conserve the caves and karst of the Northern Rockies. Members survey, inventory, map, photograph, and monitor caves across Montana, Idaho, and beyond. Its conservation work includes bat habitat protection through White-Nose Syndrome monitoring in partnership with federal agencies, and required decontamination protocols for members entering caves.
