North Sound Waterkeeper

North Sound Waterkeeper is RE Sources' program in the Waterkeeper Alliance network, working to keep the central Salish Sea and the inland waters that feed it fishable, swimmable, and drinkable. Based in Bellingham, it monitors water quality in Whatcom and Skagit County rivers, creeks, and shorelines, trains volunteer community scientists to collect health data that agencies lack funding to gather, and runs a pollution reporting hotline. It advocates for science-based water policy in media and government proceedings, hosts beach cleanups and waterfront tours, and pursues Clean Water Act enforcement when other approaches fail.
