North Shore Land Alliance

North Shore Land Alliance conserves and stewards Long Island's natural and historic lands, waters and environmental resources, and uses education, outreach and volunteerism to connect people to nature and build a community conservation ethic. Its protection work targets drinking water sources, local food production land, wetlands, wildlife habitat and natural recreational space. Since 2003 it has protected 1,500 acres through conservation easements and owns and manages 16 preserves, alongside programs such as a community garden and guided nature walks. It is based in Mill Neck, New York.
