North American Environment Protection Association Inc

NAMEPA is a marine industry-led nonprofit based in Weston, Connecticut that works to preserve the marine environment by promoting sustainable marine industry best practices and educating seafarers, students, and the public about protecting ocean, lake, and river resources. Its programs span industry work on MARPOL compliance and marine environment awareness, education through scholarships, a K-12 art contest, maritime workforce development, and Adopt A Ship, and community action such as beach cleanups, awards, and grants. It partners with shipping companies, classification societies, ports, conservation groups, educational institutions, and the International Maritime Organization.
