Nordson Green Earth Foundation

Nordson Green Earth Foundation works to increase tree and greenspace equity across Chicagoland, on the premise that all communities deserve trees and the health, climate, and social benefits they bring. It plants dense native forests on small urban sites using the Miyawaki Method, which matures a woodland in roughly 20 years rather than 200. Its first forest, the first of its kind in Illinois, was planted in Markham in May 2022, and its work also includes soil remediation, community planting events, and environmental education.
