Newtown Forest Association

Founded in 1924, the Newtown Forest Association is Connecticut's first land trust, dedicated to preserving open space and natural beauty in Newtown. It stewards over 1,500 acres of permanently protected land across multiple preserves, held in perpetuity and open to the public for hiking and passive recreation. It recently acquired Deep Brook Farm, which will add trails and parking for community use, and operates without public funding, relying on membership and community support.
