New York Federation Of Lake Association

The New York State Federation of Lake Associations is a coalition of lake associations, individual members, and corporate members founded in 1983 to protect and restore New York's lakes. It runs the Citizens Statewide Lake Assessment Program, a volunteer water quality monitoring effort carried out with the state Department of Environmental Conservation, and publishes guidance on aquatic invasive species, harmful algal blooms, dam safety, and lake management planning. Member lakes range from Adirondack and Finger Lakes waters to small ponds in urban and suburban parts of the state.
