New Mexico Acequia Association

The New Mexico Acequia Association is a Santa Fe based nonprofit working with the traditional acequia irrigation communities of New Mexico. Its mission is to protect water and the acequias, to grow healthy food for families and communities, and to honor cultural heritage. It provides technical assistance on bylaws, water rights and acequia mapping, runs youth education and the Los Sembradores farmer training project, organizes legislative advocacy, and convenes the annual Congreso de las Acequias.
