The Neuse Riverkeeper is one of two full-time Riverkeepers employed by Sound Rivers, whose mission is to monitor and protect the Neuse and Tar-Pamlico River watersheds covering nearly one quarter of North Carolina. The Riverkeeper conducts water monitoring, investigates pollution and other environmental issues, and serves as an advocate and scientific expert for the Neuse basin. Sound Rivers runs supporting programs including Water Watch, Swim Guide, Litter-Free Rivers, and stormwater restoration, from offices in New Bern, Raleigh, and Washington, NC.
