Neighborhood Gardens Trust

Neighborhood Gardens Trust preserves community gardens and shared green spaces across Philadelphia, working from the premise that an equitable and sustainable city is one in which all neighborhoods have vibrant green spaces for residents to cultivate food, flowers, and community. It secures gardens against development by taking ownership or long-term leases, partnering with the City of Philadelphia, property owners, and community groups. Gardeners it works with receive liability insurance, help with nonprofit tax exemption, water service setup, maintenance support, and capital improvements.
