National Oceans And Applications Research Center

NOARC describes itself as a private, independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) development corporation chartered by the State of Mississippi, located at the John C. Stennis Space Center in Hancock County. It develops Space to Seafloor environmental monitoring technologies to support coastal restoration projects focused on wetlands, watersheds, wildlife, and water quality, using unmanned airborne and waterborne vehicles for coastal mapping. Its projects cover the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, Hancock County Marsh Preserve, Cat Island, and the St. Joe Reef pilot.
