The National Geographic Society is a nonprofit that uses the power of science, exploration, education, and storytelling to illuminate and protect the wonder of our world. It funds Explorers through grants to individuals working on projects in science, conservation, storytelling, education, and technology. The Society reports more than 450 active Explorer-led projects across 140 countries and areas, organised around six focus areas: ocean, land, wildlife, human histories and cultures, planetary health, and space.
