Nantucket Waterkeeper

The Nantucket Waterkeeper is the water-quality program of the Nantucket Land & Water Council, the island's environmental advocate, based on Nantucket, Massachusetts. The Waterkeeper measures aquifer levels monthly at ten wells across the island, producing data used by the U.S. Geological Survey and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. The program also leads eelgrass restoration and mooring system improvements in Nantucket Harbor, alongside research on harmful algal blooms and harbour health.
