Mountain Watershed Association works to protect, preserve and restore the Youghiogheny River watershed and its broader communities in southwestern Pennsylvania through conservation, recreation, education and advocacy. Its conservation work includes river conservation planning, land conservation, water sampling and acid mine drainage treatment systems, while its advocacy campaigns oppose proposed power plants, coal mining and waste landfills. It also builds recreational access through the Indian Creek Valley Trail and the Youghiogheny River Water Trail.
