Mid Missouri River Prescribed Burn Association

The Mid-Missouri River Prescribed Burn Association is a landowner-led group that combats Eastern Red Cedar encroachment by planning and carrying out prescribed burns on land along the Missouri River in south-central South Dakota. Burning is used to maintain grassland health and promote native plants. The association offers membership and training, though most scheduled burns have been paused since a memorandum of agreement with South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks lapsed in 2024.
