Michigan Waterways Stewards

Michigan Waterways Stewards is a Lansing-based nonprofit whose mission is to protect, care for, and improve Michigan's treasured and vulnerable waterways for the benefit of fish and wildlife, recreation and sport, organized around stewardship, education, and advocacy. It runs volunteer cleanup projects that remove litter and debris and mitigate river obstructions, and loans out cleanup kits containing boats, grappling hooks, and first-aid supplies. Since launching in November 2022 it reports more than 368 stewardship projects and 4,513 volunteers across 21 Michigan communities.
