Mclean Nature Preserve

McLean Nature Preserve is a 160-acre preserve in western Bay County, Michigan, in Rhodes, spanning about half a mile along both banks of the North Branch of the Kawkawlin River. Jim and Shirley McLean assembled the land starting in 1973, placed it under conservation easements with the Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy in 2007, and formed a 501(c)(3) in 2012. Its forests, meadows and wetlands support deer, foxes, bobcats, beavers and many bird species, and a converted farmhouse opened as a visitor center in 2013.
