Maryland Environmental Trust
The Maryland Environmental Trust is the State's land trust, working with property owners, local communities, and other land trusts to conserve Maryland's landscapes and natural resources. It protects land through conservation easements and acquisition, stewards those protected properties, and administers grant programs including Keep Maryland Beautiful. As of December 2024 it reports roughly 142,560 acres conserved statewide, and it maintains public mapping tools such as MERLIN and GreenPrint.
