The Marine Stewardship Council is an international nonprofit that sets standards for sustainable fishing and for seafood supply chain traceability, and certifies fisheries and businesses against them. Its blue fish label identifies certified products, with over 590 certified fisheries and more than 21,000 labelled products sold in over 60 countries. It also runs the Ocean Stewardship Fund, providing grants and research support to help fisheries improve their practices.
