Marin Agricultural Land Trust

Marin Agricultural Land Trust works to protect and steward Marin's farmland to ensure the viability of agriculture and a healthy environment. Founded in 1980 by Ellen Straus and Phyllis Faber alongside ranchers and environmentalists, it was the nation's first farmland trust, acquiring agricultural conservation easements from willing landowners. It has permanently protected roughly 59,000 acres in Marin County, California, concentrated in West Marin.
