Maine Woods Forever

Maine Woods Forever works to protect the legacy of Maine's forests by promoting stewardship, finding common ground among the many groups with a stake in the woods, and identifying and conserving exceptional natural, cultural and historic sites. Since 2004 it has convened annual roundtables that have drawn more than 100 organizations together to spark ideas and build conservation partnerships. Its projects include the Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail, the Maine Youth Conservation Award, and work spanning forest conservation, recreation access, the forest economy, and education through history and art.
