Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust

The Maine Appalachian Trail Land Trust is an independent land trust founded in 2002 to preserve and protect the land surrounding the Appalachian Trail in Maine for public benefit. It reports conserving over 40,000 acres, protecting 35 miles of Appalachian Trail corridor, and securing six of Maine's 4,000-foot mountains. The trust earned Land Trust Accreditation in 2024 and runs community hikes, landowner engagement, and educational programs including its Wabanaki and High Peaks work.
