Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper

Lower Mississippi Riverkeeper is a project of the Louisiana Environmental Action Network and a member of the Waterkeeper Alliance, working to protect, preserve, and restore the ecological integrity of the Mississippi River Basin through advocacy and citizen action. Its focus is the Louisiana stretch of the river, especially between Baton Rouge and New Orleans, where it tracks permit applications, compliance orders, and penalty notices for the industrial and municipal facilities discharging wastewater along the corridor. It also takes pollution reports from the public and publishes news on regional water quality issues.
