Lower Mississippi River Conservation Committee

The Lower Mississippi River Conservation Committee has worked since 1994 to help manage the Lower Mississippi River in ways that respect its economic value while sustaining ecological processes and restoring altered habitats. Its work concentrates on habitat restoration, long-term conservation planning, and scientific assessment of the river's condition across Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, and Tennessee. It coordinates with state and federal agencies and partners including the USGS, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the Army Corps of Engineers, and The Nature Conservancy.
