Lower Dupage River Watershed Coalition

The Lower DuPage River Watershed Coalition is a stakeholder coalition formed after a 2011 watershed plan, working to preserve and enhance water quality in the Lower DuPage River and its tributaries. The watershed covers roughly 168 square miles, beginning where the East and West Branches converge at the south end of Naperville and running through Will County to the Des Plaines River at Channahon. Its work centers on a bioassessment monitoring program that has collected biological, chemical, and habitat data from 42 sites on a three-year cycle since 2012, plus nutrient assessment and reduction planning, restoration projects, and watershed outreach.
