Louisiana Purchase Cypress Legacy

Louisiana Purchase Cypress Legacy is a New Orleans based nonprofit whose stated purpose is to inventory, landmark, and promote the stewardship of cypress trees in Louisiana that were already alive at the time of the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. It documents and places commemorative plaques on these ancient bald cypress, and publishes an interactive map and a registry of the oldest known cypress in each Louisiana parish.
