Los Angeles Audubon Society, founded in 1911, promotes the study and protection of birds, other wildlife, and their habitats throughout the diverse landscapes of the Los Angeles area. It runs bird walks and field trips, community science work such as the LA County Breeding Bird Atlas, and conservation efforts for species including the Western Snowy Plover and California Least Tern. Its education programs connect Los Angeles youth to nature through after-school programs, field trips, and on-campus science education.
