Long Island Native Plant Initiative

The Long Island Native Plant Initiative is an all-volunteer cooperative of more than 30 nonprofits, government agencies, nursery professionals, and citizens based in Brentwood, New York. It grows Long Island ecotype native plants from locally collected, ethically sourced seed so native material is available to nurseries, communities, habitat restoration projects, and home gardeners. LINPI runs a nursery and seed increase plots, holds public plant sales, and does education and volunteer outreach focused on plants adapted to Long Island's own ecoregions.
