Loess Hills Elysian Prairie Restoration And Conservation Proje

Elysian Prairie is a 501(c)(3) restoring native prairie habitat in the Loess Hills of western Iowa, based in Castana. Its work is invasive cedar removal, native seeding and prescribed fire, carried out largely by volunteers who also gather seed and survey species. The site frames the urgency around the fact that less than 1 percent of Iowa's original tallgrass prairie remains.
