Litchfield Hills Audubon Society

Chartered in 1955 as a local chapter of the National Audubon Society, the Litchfield Hills Audubon Society works to protect birds, other wildlife, and their habitats through conservation, education, research, and advocacy across Litchfield County, Connecticut. It manages the Boyd Woods, Kalmia, and Wigwam Brook sanctuaries, totaling roughly 157 acres, and runs a long-term forest management project there with the Natural Resources Conservation Service. The chapter also offers free monthly programs and bird walks, and supports a bluebird nesting program, an American chestnut restoration effort, and birding backpacks lent through local libraries.
