Leopold Landscape Alliance

The Leopold Landscape Alliance owns and interprets the two houses on Clay Street in Burlington, Iowa, where Aldo Leopold spent his childhood and first developed the ideas behind his land ethic. It offers free house tours, a Walking in Leopold's Footsteps walk, a guest speaker series, a children's nature library, and a residency for researchers, writers, and artists working on the human relationship with nature. It also pursues landscape-scale conservation in the Iowa and Illinois watersheds near Mississippi River Pools 18 and 19 and advises private landowners on habitat restoration and land health.
