Lehigh County Conservation District

A county conservation district established by the Lehigh County Commissioners in 1946, one of sixty-six in Pennsylvania, working to protect, conserve, and provide leadership for the sustainability of natural resources in Lehigh County. Its programs cover agricultural nutrient management and soil conservation, erosion and sediment control on urban development sites, NPDES post-construction stormwater plan review under delegation from the Pennsylvania DEP, farmland preservation, watershed protection, conservation education, dirt and gravel road pollution prevention, and mosquito and tick control. It is governed by a volunteer board of citizen directors and funded by county and state government along with user fees.
