Land Trust Of Santa Cruz County

Founded in 1978 and based in Santa Cruz, the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County works to protect, care for, and connect people to the natural and working lands of the Santa Cruz County region, including wild and working forests, wildlife habitat, coastal landscapes, and farming and ranching land. Its projects include protecting farmland from development, building public trails such as 5.5 miles of new trail at Watsonville Slough Farm, and connecting over 10,000 acres of wildlands between south Santa Cruz County and the Gabilan Range with support for a wildlife crossing over Highway 101. It also produced the Conservation Blueprint, a science-based 25-year road map for protecting the county's natural resources.
