Lake Waramaug Task Force Inc

Founded in 1975 as the Lake Waramaug Task Force and rebranded in 2025 as the Lake Waramaug Conservancy, this Warren, Connecticut nonprofit works to restore and preserve the water quality, clarity, and ecological health of Lake Waramaug and its 9,000-acre watershed. It runs scientific monitoring and lake aeration systems, operates a zooplankton farm to rebalance the lake ecosystem, and tracks cyanobacteria levels so the lake stays safe for recreation. Lake Waramaug was the first lake in Connecticut to implement an integrated aquatic invasive species prevention program, targeting hydrilla and zebra mussels.
