The Lake Nelson Improvement Association is a resident group in Piscataway, New Jersey that works to preserve and maintain Lake Nelson and the neighborhood around it, serving roughly 45 homes directly on the lake plus other interested community members. Its responsibilities include the dam inspections the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection requires every four years, along with lake cleanups funded by member dues and donations. The association also organizes community events, including a Fourth of July parade it has run for more than 50 years.
