Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation

The Lake Mohawk Preservation Foundation pursues research, treatment methods and education to protect the water quality of Lake Mohawk and the Wallkill River watershed in Sparta and Byram Townships, Sussex County, New Jersey. Lake Mohawk is an 800-acre man-made lake built in the 1920s that forms the headwaters of the Wallkill River. The foundation's work spans water quality treatment, environmental education, scientific research, aquifer protection and land conservation, and it shares its findings for the benefit of the wider watershed and other lakes.
