Lake Keowee Source Water Protection Team

The Lake Keowee Source Water Protection Team is a 501(c)(3) formed in 2017 to protect water quality in the Lake Keowee and Jocassee watersheds, which supply drinking water to Pickens, Oconee, and Greenville County residents in upstate South Carolina. Its members include Greenville Water, Seneca Light and Water, Duke Energy, Oconee and Pickens Counties, Upstate Forever, Advocates for Quality Development, and Friends of Lake Keowee Society, with technical support from Clemson Cooperative Extension. Programs include cost share assistance for landowners with failing septic systems, an Adopt A Stream monitoring partnership with Clemson, watershed planning and interactive mapping, and community education.
