The Lake George Waterkeeper defends the natural resources of Lake George and its watershed by promoting compliance with existing laws, supporting scientific research, and upholding sound engineering principles. The Waterkeeper monitors the chemical, physical, and biological condition of the streams feeding the lake, reviews development projects across the basin for regulatory compliance, and conducts education and advocacy on water quality. Running since 2002, the program now operates as part of the Lake George Association in upstate New York.
