Kentucky Natural Lands Trust works to safeguard biodiverse and climate resilient landscapes in ways that benefit communities, under the banner of protecting, connecting, and restoring wildlands. It establishes preserves, facilitates conservation easements, and helps private landowners conserve their property, alongside watershed monitoring, wildlife research, and community education. Its focus areas include Pine Mountain in Letcher and Harlan counties, the Bernheim to Fort Knox corridor, and the Cumberland Plateau, with roughly 64,000 acres protected to date.
